A 1U, 24-port Category 5e patch panel — the key component where all the network cables arriving in the server cabinet (from wall sockets) are terminated at a central, organised point and then connected to the switch with short patch cords. Category 5e supports standard Gigabit speed and meets the needs of most office networks. The unshielded (UTP) construction is perfectly adequate in a standard office environment and simplifies installation. The 110/Krone termination blocks at the back allow fast, reliable cable connection with a punch-down tool, and the numbered ports on the front panel make tracing cables easier later on.
